So here we go again...
Last weekend was quite an eventful one. Early on in October I applied to a job with siemens here in portugal, just to see what happened... Had no real expectations of it, but alas, last friday I was on my way down (Lisbon) to my 2nd "group dynamic" interview... play on!
That same evening I got back home and received an e-mail calling me for the final interview on Monday (wohoo?). At this point a lot of questions popped up, and I was facing the biggest of them all, did I REALLY WANT THIS? Conversations with myself, friends and family ensued... The conclusion was that I would leave all my cards dealt until I was sure I would be selected... So then came Monday and off I was down to Lisbon again. Into the complex, hand shake and 10 minutes into the interview I came clean. I could no longer fool myself and others. The manager seemed a swell guy to me and I had the impression he liked me (after he repeated that a few times)... To sum it up, the interview ended with the following question "If I called you tomorrow to come and work for me what would you say?" - "No". Hand shake, door slide, bus, train, home.
Decision made, I'm not going to Lisbon.
Meanwhile...
2 weeks ago I finished a new song and have been itching to put it up. I felt it led up to another song "idea" which I had so I decided to try and get that second one done as well...
Getting increasingly fustrated with it, and changing it several times I have finally decided to hammer out a recording of it and leave it at that. I've taken the chance to use my looping pedal for the first time, something I intend to use a lot when I hopefully start hitting some shows... The setup is still really, bad... no mic stand, a weird strap I "engineered" (see? not quite retired yet) and a headset instead of headphones... I've also been playing a lot in standard tuning but down 1 semi-tone... And have been wanting to shift that a bit because the pitch doesn't quite suit my voice I think... Finally,
Tomorrow I'm going to Trondheim (Norway) to spend christmas with my brother and his fiance and MY NEPHEW!!! wooho!! Really really looking forward to it!
